Ethan Phillips (born John Ethan Phillips February 8, 1955) is an American actor. He is best known for his television roles as Neelix on Star Trek: Voyager and PR man Pete Downey on Benson.
Ethan Phillips is best known for playing Neelix on Star Trek: Voyager but he also appeared as three other characters throughout the Star Trek franchise. Phillips' affiliation with Star Trek actually began on Star Trek: The Next Generation in the 1980s before he became a series regular on Voyager in 1995.

His father and grandfather were the original owners of the legendary Frankie and Johnnie’s Steakhouse (and former speakeasy) in Manhattan, but young Phillips eschewed the family business and devoted his life to the arts.
