    Hughes is a Virginia native who studied Theatre and French at Washington and Lee University. Later, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Artin London.

    As an original member of The Old Vic New Voices Network, Hughes performed on stages across Europe and the United States. She appeared in productions such as Anton Chekov’s Three Sisters and Halo/Titanic. She would later tour the United States to perform the one-woman show The Thin Line, written and directed by Cathy Plourde.

    Hughes played swimmer Blake Martin in the 2015 film Coach of the Year, based on the true story of a high school swim team that competed for a state championship despite lacking a pool in which to practice.
