Ben stars as the brilliant yet troubled professor of criminology. A hugely prolific actor, viewers will know the actor for his roles in Death in Paradise, Primeval andBridgerton.
Emma plays the no-nonsense detective who, after reaching out to her former professor, now works with him on cases. Emma has had a fabulous TV career, having previously starred in Bridgerton as Alice Mondrich, The Trial of Christine Keeler as Ann, and short film Emergeas Ayesha.
Adelaide is Jasper's overbearing mother, who the professor struggles to deal with. Tony and Olivier Award-winner Frances is perhaps best known for her role as Ruth Jones in Rising Damp, and has also starred in The History Boys, Vanity Fair and as Madame Maxime in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Christina is the head of CID and former flame of Professor T. The actress who plays her, Juliet, is best known for her roles as the Countess of Warwick in The White Queen, Marisa Pirenesi in Le Donne, and as Lily in Snatch.
An esteemed actress, Juliet is known for her roles in Bend It Like Beckham, The Village, Atlantis, andSecret Invasion. In the ITV series, she plays Professor T's therapist.
Sunetra plays DCI Maiya Goswami, a new boss at the police station who takes over from DCI Christina Brand. Her management style is described as "abrasive, direct and very different to her predecessor's". Viewers will know Sunetra for her roles in Casualty and Ackley Bridge, as well as her regular appearances on Loose Women.
Sarah plays Professor T's long-suffering assistant Ingrid Snares. The actress has previously appeared in Queens of Mystery, Quiz, and also starred in the Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci film, Supernova.
