Mikhail Romanovich "Mischa" Bakaleinikov (also spelled Bakaleynikov and Bakaleinikoff; Russian: Михаил Романович Бакалейников; November 10, 1890 – August 10, 1960) was a noted musical director, film composer and conductor.
Mischa Bakaleinikoff. Composer and accomplished double-bass player and cellist, Mischa fled his country after the October Revolution of 1917, along with his brothers Vladimir and Constantin. He arrived in America in 1926, and, five years later, got a job with Columbia in Hollywood.

Born in Moscow during the Tsarist era, Mischa R. Bakaleinikoff was a music student at the time of the Russian Revolution and he eventually fled the turmoil of the Bolshevik era, arriving in the United States in 1926.
