Nicolás Giacobone is an Argentine writer and screenwriter. He won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the 2014 film Birdman at the 87th Academy Awards in 2015. He wrote a book of short stories Algún Cristo (2001), and the novels The Crossed-Out Notebook (2018) and Bum Bum Bum (2020).
Nicolás Giacobone was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. He has a cinematic background, as his maternal grandfather was a film director and his uncle an actor. His cousin is a scriptwriter with whom Giacobone has worked. His wife is the trans actress and model Mariana Genesio Peña.
