Coral is a chain of betting shops in the United Kingdom, owned by Entain. The Coral business was established by Joe Coral in 1926. It grew into an entertainment conglomerate before undergoing a series of ownership changes starting in 1981. As of 2015, Coral had 1,845 shops across the country.
Joe Coral (born Joseph Kagarlitski, 11 December 1904 – 16 December 1996) was a bookmaker and entertainment businessman, most famous for founding Coral bookmakers.

Joe Coral was one of the largest regional bookmakers in England by 1939. War interrupted the betting business, owing to the huge reductions in the racing calendar, but Coral was still busy.
Coral began his life as an on-track bookie at Harringay, White City and Clapton, later making Walthamstow his home when racing resumed there in 1942. He built his capital at a rate of knots and a £5,000 taking at coursing’s Waterloo Cup in 1942 made him the ‘big chap’.
