    William Douglas Lansford (13 July 1922 – 22 May 2013; age 90) was a writer who co-wrote, with Philip LaZebnik, the story for the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "Devil's Due".

    Lansford previously wrote stories for the television series Four Star Playhouse (1956), Wagon Train (1962, with Theodore Bikel), Bonanza (1968, with Lou Antonio and Ned Romero and directed by Marc Daniels) on which he also worked as story consultant in 1966, The Rookies (1973, with Joseph Campanella and Thalmus Rasulala), Ironside (1969-1973), Starsky and Hutch (1977, starring David Soul), Fantasy Island (1978-1981, starring Ricardo Montalban), and CHiPs (1980-1982, with Robert Pine).
