An award-winning writer who contributed to self-titled shows for Dean Martin, Bill Cosby and Mary Tyler Moore, Daniels also co-created the hit sitcom Taxi (1978). An occasional producer and director, his other successes include The Kid and Glory! Glory!. He later co-wrote the movie The Lonely Guy (1984).
