Sir Colin Nigel Callender CBE (born May 1952) is a British television, film and theater producer. He is the CEO at Playground Entertainment, a production company with offices in New York and London.
Colin Callender is a BAFTA, Emmy, Golden Globe, Olivier and Tony award winning producer, and the founder and chairman of Playground LLC, a film and television production company. He has produced acclaimed dramas such as WOLF HALL, HOWARDS END, KING LEAR and HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD.
Callender began his career as stage manager at London's Royal Court Theater working with David Hare and Sam Shepard. He won his first Emmy for his work as producer of the television adaptation of the Royal Shakespeare Company's The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby for Channel Four in England.
