  5. We welcome people of all faiths and none to enjoy the peace of the building and participate in our services. We are open for worship and hold two services on Sunday mornings: Holy Communion at 9.30am and Morning Worship at 11am. The Cathedral Choir sings at both the 9.30 and 11am services.

  6. Being at the heart of Edinburgh, St Giles’ is easily accessible by bus. Stops on George IV bridge are the closest, but North Bridge and South Bridge stops are a 3-minute walk away. Stops on Princes Street are slightly further and would require walking up hill. To plan your route, visit.

  7. The present St Giles’ organ was built in 1992 by the Austrian firm of Rieger Orgelbau, in consultation with Herrick Bunney and Peter Hurford. The instrument, with its distinctive case of Austrian oak designed by Douglas Laird, stands in the South Transept.
