Nov 11, 2010 · Nice one Lee Lee mentioned a lot of conservation subjects such as demize of farmland species etc which we should all echo his sentiments, however don't agree with his view on ruddy ducks they should go the same way as mink, grey squirrel and canada geese. That apart Fair play to him and long may he reign:king:

Mar 8, 2007 · Mar 8, 2007. #1. "Lee" has posted this on this on the British Life List listing on Surfbirds. Can it be so? "Retired from British twitching in March 2007 - decided to opt out of listing after a fantastic day's birding was absolutely ruined by a 4-day twitching dip in West Wales searching for a hybrid gull. The UK400 Club and listing for me is ...
Mar 8, 2007 · Well-known member. Mar 8, 2007. #25. I could'nt care less if Lee Evans has retired from twitching or not. If he has given up twitching, i dont think he will be greatly missed by most birders, just the birders who are keen twitchers and who are in his 400 Club. Last edited: Mar 8, 2007.
Jun 23, 2011 · This is based on that in part for species way before my time. (That comparison did not include Mel Billington so I have no knowledge of his list in respect of the blockers from the 60's, 70's and 80's.) Steve Webb's list is 549 on BUBO including (I believe) 4 species which are pending - Alder Flycatcher; House Finch; Slaty-backed Gull; and ...
Oct 1, 2010 · Why bother discussing anything to do with the UK400 Club, aka Lee Evans, on a forum dealing with taxonomy and nomenclature? Science (which, like it or not, taxonomy is a discipline of) and the UK400 Club are mutually exclusive. The same can be said for conservation and the aforementioned "organisation".
Nov 4, 2009 · The UK400 Club (sometimes uncharitably called the IQ40 Club), is run by well known year lister, Lee Evans. The UK400 Club does not follow the official British list compiled by the British Ornithological Union (BOU), so often counts or does not count birds which are/are not on the official British list. One thing is certain, the UK400 Club ...
Hmm his local patch is the UK Presumably now the great birding/twitching book that we have all been waiting for will be written? It'll probably sell more copies than the New Collins guide! Have the last laugh Lee and write it! This thread alone warrants it's own chapter! All the Best John.
