DreamWorks Pictures (also known as DreamWorks SKG and formerly DreamWorks Studios, commonly referred to as DreamWorks) is an American film studio and distribution label of Amblin Partners.
The initials SKG each stand for the last names of the founders of the studio: Steven Spielberg, filmmaker/producer and the founder of his company Amblin Entertainment.

Oct 12, 1994 · Previously, the logo was adorned with the full name of the film company: “DreamWorks Animation SKG.”. The abbreviation SKG is a tribute to its creators – Spielberg, Katzenberg, and Geffen. In 2016, “Animation SKG” was removed, leaving only the first word on the picture.
Visuals: Over a dark purple background is a slightly different interpretation of the DreamWorks symbol, along with the DreamWorks SKG text being in a different font, all being placed in the cloud BG of the 1997 logo.
Aug 30, 2024 · The "DREAMWORKS SKG" text is already in place when the clouds pans away, then the camera zooms away from the logo, segueing into the opening scene. This was the last animated film by DreamWorks to use the regular DreamWorks logo.
Oct 12, 1994 · In 2006, Paramount Pictures bought DreamWorks SKG and, by agreement with DWA, acquired the rights to distribute all Animation SKG cartoons. The new logo was in harmony with the Paramount logo, which is also painted in blue and white.
