Here's why Weezer gets hate-- 1)They are highly inconsistent, 2) They have not lived up to their potential (which is very sad), 3) They are 50 year olds whose target audience are now 13 year olds and 4) They never truly found their musical identity (pop vs rock).

Next week I’ll begin the surveys for all B-sides, LP songs, and anything else Weezer’s released. But first, let’s briefly revisit the community album tier list now that we’ve had a bit of time to let Autumn sink in after release.
Feb 21, 2021 · To be clear, I ranked every individual Weezer song that I could find on Spotify. I didn't include bonuses from Pinkerton Deluxe (unless they were real songs, e.g. Getting Up and Leaving or Long Time Sunshine), I didn't include remixes (except the Jacked Up remix, since it's the only one on an album), I didn't include Spotify Sessions, or any Christmas songs (barring The Christmas Song).

As a huge Weezer fan, I don't really understand the hate. I understand why people don't like albums like Raditude and Make Believe (even if I personally love them). I think people mainly hate because it's cool to hate them because the good Weezer stuff is really good eg blue, Pinkerton, white, ok human.

As much as I personally believe that White deserves more praise than this, they’re both great albums, so for this week, I’m going to review Pinkerton by Weezer, from 1996.
