Anyway, I recently signed up to Starling Bank as I love going on holiday as often as possible and have been seduced by their fee free usage abroad. This has really excited me and I’m looking forward to receiving my card.

Aug 25, 2024 · Hear less of people complaining about frozen accounts from Starling that you do Revolut, Santander, Chase, Monzo and Lloyds but that may not be the true scale of it. Jun 2, 2021 · My main bank account is with HSBC. I've had the account for as long as I can remember. I'm giving it some thought to also switching it to First Direct. Alternatively, I'm also tempted to switch it to either Starling or Monzo - I would find the goals/pots handy.
May 13, 2023 · Starling focus is on business banking these days. However most old banks will do hard check where as the newer digital banks only do soft. Hello, I switched out from Starling 12 months ago (as it was the only account I had spare for a switching bonus - didn't realise I would be unable to open a new account for 12 months).
Apr 8, 2021 · I'd argue that a digital bank, built from the ground up in the digital age is probably more secure than the legacy systems that the high street banks cobble together into a somewhat functional IT system. In any case, Monzo/Starling both have FSCS protection so your money is just as protected as any other high street bank.
