Romero's name is a reference to the famous English play Romeo and Juliet, while his skin is a reference to the Where's Wally? book series. The Friar Lawrence Achievement is granted after completing the entire questline, and is a reference to the character of the same name in Romeo and Juliet.
Apr 5, 2024 · I think most of these morons assume Romeo & Juliet began life as a 90s Dicaprio movie, so they assume further that they are now remaking the movie and race-bending the Claire Dane's role. There's also a lot of "it'll be a flop, nobody will come to see it!" nonsense, ignorant of the fact that they are talking about a sold-out West End play.
Romeo kills Tybalt out of blind rage, Juliet quite literally threatens to kill herself if the Friar didn’t help, Romeo threatens to kill Benvolio if he hangs around the vault, Juliet is willing to fake her death which leads to one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the play with her family all finding out, etc.. these are not innocent characters.

Available tickets repeatedly sold out on his name alone when all that was known was “Jamie Lloyd, Romeo + Juliet, Tom Holland”. There’d have been some effect from JL’s recent huge success with Sunset Boulevard, and maybe a teensy bit from people who just like Shakespeare in whatever form it is done in, but the manic scramble for tickets was really almost entirely due to TH.
Apr 6, 2024 · When I was a kid this version of Romeo and Juliet was HUGE and this Mercutio was the fav character. Fast forward to me needing to watch full 2 seasons of From to make the connection. Despite "a pox on both your houses" being like a pinnacle scene for me as a kid.

Shakespeare is an English author, and they chose two English born actors to play Romeo and Juliet in a play that will be performed in London. Not sure what the color of her skin has to do with anything, and why a bunch of Americans are complaining western tradition being stolen.
Feb 11, 2023 · Juliet didn't plan on faking her death until she learned that she was being married off to Paris, which she was told literally minutes after Romeo left for Mantua. Her discovery then includes the Mad Lord Capulet scene, which ends with her resolving to visit Friar Laurence for guidance (and admitting she's willing to actually off herself if all else fails - extreme, I know).
May 26, 2024 · Absolutely agree. We were reading Romeo and Juliet when the movie came out, and our teacher REFUSED to even discuss the movie. But she made us watch some men in tights low budget version from the 70s. Way to put your own biases before kids' education.
