Although the OU's grading system is very odd, the lack of exams in some subjects and the insane thresholds, if you number crunch, to get a 1st/2.1/2.2 in the OU is not that different in actual fact.

The latter is much more likely, pretty much al unis accept OU credits for first year entry, although the amount of credits you need (and at which level) will vary, so you should email admissions tutors directly and ask.

(Which I guess is also around the minimum of what is classed as full time work, you didn't say how many hours you work though). 34 divided by 5 days a week (give you two days off, lol) is roughly 6.5 hours a day.
