The flashing in El Capitan is related to the backlight brightness being adjusted due to ambient light conditions. You can make it happen by adjusting brightness manually on the keyboard too. So any time your display is trying to make a subtle brightness adjustment, flux seems to cut out momentarily.

Jun 11, 2015 · Flux doesn't work at external monitor connected through docking station. The problem is, that external monitor connected through this docking station (with HDMI) doesn't use Flux settings. I haven't tried DVI cable, but I guess, it would be the same. For monitor connected directly to Mac, Flux works fine.
Aug 8, 2017 · Flux remains after uninstall. Hi I used flux for a while and in the end didn't get on with. I uninstalled it weeks ago and yet every evening the display will be dimmed. I've tried the recommendation in the FAQ to uninstall and reinstall and set the default to 24 hours but this has not worked, in a similar vain to these two problems.

Mar 24, 2016 · If you have already installed "Flux.app" application (a web design app from The Escapers) on your Mac, you definitely need to rename this "Flux.app" in "F.lux.app". Otherwise, "Flux" (F.lux) overwrite and erase "Flux" (from The Escapers). By the way, F.lux is a great application. Deep congrats to the team!

Jun 24, 2015 · Hi, this looks like the information to help me with my issue but I don't have org.herf.Flux.plist in my preferences folder. When VLC is open, it auto disables f.lux and I would appreciate being able to stop it from doing that. I like to watch movies or tv shows and have it dim to help me fall asleep.
