Aug 9, 2007 · As stated, the 50 mm f1.8 takes a 52 mm filter. However, I would buy a 58 mm filter and a step down adaptor. You can then use it on the kit lens and a number of other lenses, e.g. the 70-300, that take a 58 mm filter. Jim. http://www.pbase.com/jcassatt.

Jun 25, 2024 · With filter thread diameters available in all common sizes from 37mm through to 95mm (and even an elusive 105mm option, if you can find it), there’s a DHG Super polarizer for almost any lens, and most are very well priced, in the UK at least.
Feb 25, 2015 · One thing: technically it's not 90 degrees to the sun, it's 90 degrees to a reflected surface. The reflection has become polarized, which allows the polarizer to block it. The effect on blue sky can vary, depending on how much reflection (haze) there is in the sky.
