But a security wipe not only deletes user files, but it also replaces the the now unused device memory with random 1s and 0s so the data can't be recovered.

Oct 16, 2013 · (Well it's not that hard to flash the phone and check if the phone gets data connection or not, without a restore, so I gave it a try.) It doesn't matter if I restore my stuff or not.. the phone only gets a data connection if I "force" it through escreen :-/ (As stated in the other thread: The Sims are not the problem, as they are both working in my business phone.)
Jun 23, 2021 · If you hold the power button for 12 or more seconds that's a hard restart. Try those before doing a factory reset as these methods will leave your data intact.
