The Pinelands NR was established by Congress in 1978, and is the nation's first national reserve. It contains Wharton State Forest, Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, Bass River State Forest, and Penn State Forest. All of which I have visited and can be reviewed on TA. There is a multitude of things to do and see.

June 28, 1979 - Governor Byrne signs Pinelands Protection Act, setting deadline for completion of management plan and endorsing interim development controls. August 8, 1980 - Pinelands Commission adopts management plan for 368,000-acre Preservation Area.
