Supporting this great event is The John Robinson Youth Chess Trust. The Trust (an independent registered charity) was founded in 2006 to support junior chess in England. The Trust has generously supported the British since 2006 and in 2023 awarded the English Chess Federation £10,000 to facilitate the promotion and organising of the event and to provide junior coaching during the championship.
29 June – Counties Championship Final (Open) 06 July – Finals of all other championship sections. The 2024 finals will be held regionally, combining finals where practical to do so. With the sporting agreement of Northumberland, the final for the Open has been advanced to 29 June to accommodate England representation at the World Seniors.

Mar 7, 2024 · The 2024 British Chess Championship will be held in Hull with the first competitions starting in the evening of Thursday 25 th July 2024 with the final games being played on Sunday 4 th August 2024. There are many competitions held as part of the British Championship festival as there are rating-limited, Rapidplay and Blitz events as well as the British, Senior and Junior Championships.
