moreHall Farm is home to two original restored glamping retreats. The Railway Wagon offers a completely self-contained and secluded experience for those wanting to switch off and get away from it all, or to use as a base to explore the local area. Our unique Shepherd’s Hut provides a special glamping experience and is available from May to September. After a day of exploring, relax and unwind in our walled gardens or under a tree somewhere on the farm. A fire pit for the Shepherd’s hut and log burner in the Wagon will be there to greet you and quickly warm you up on the colder days. You can plan your next day’s activities, with the help of an abundance of local books and maps and our wealth of local knowledge. Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich and RSPB Minsmere are no further than a ten-minute drive away and Aldeburgh, Snape, and Orford are within easy reach. We are also a perfect place to stay if you enjoy walking and cycling. In fact, you can stay without getting in your car again. Footpaths from the farm take you across meadows, heaths and by the banks of the River Blyth all the way to the coast, including Southwold, or inland to the market town of Halesworth. A secure lock up is provided if you want to bring bikes. If you travel by train, we can pick you up from our local railway stations at either Halesworth or Darsham, which are both ten minutes away. Trains from London take two hours and operate hourly. We pride ourselves on using local, fresh produce, from our farm when possible. Our breakfast hampers provide you with fruits and muesli and produce to prepare your own breakfast if you are staying in the Wagon. Eggs come from our free-range chickens and all meat is sourced from local butchers. Jams and marmalades are all home-made using produce from our kitchen gardens and hedgerows. Bread is either home-made or from a local artisan bakery. And in the evening, just a five-minute walk away, is the Star Inn, our local pub, where you can enjoy Adnams beer and other local craft beers. The Star also serves ‘simple home cooking using local ingredients. In the adjacent village of Blyford is the Queen’s Head and there are plenty of other pubs and restaurants to choose from in the area.less
